Learning Objectives: Course Outcomes: Students completing PSYC 249 will be able to: * Describe, classify, and discriminate between the various disorders. (TSAP 1.03 1.07 1.09) * Recognize the components of the various research methods and describe and evaluate the various research methods. * Conduct literature review research and formulate educated analysis using APA (American Psychological Association) format. (TSAP 2.05, 2.06, 2.07, 2.09, 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, 4.04, 4.06 4.07, 4.08 4.09) * Understand how differential diagnosis is made and assessment is conducted. (TSAP 3.02, 3.03 3.04, 3.07, 3.08) * Evaluate the different theoretical perspectives, recognize important names of contributors, and their explanations and approaches to therapy. (TSAP 1.05, 1.06, 1.07, 5.02, 5.03, 5.04, 5.05) * Show an understanding and appreciation of the uniqueness and complexity of the individual with a disorder.
