The Photojournalism degree at Vincennes University takes a hands-on approach to teaching students how to tell true stories through images. This two-year associate's degree is designed to prepare graduates to transfer on to four-year programs or to enter the workforce directly.
Classes taken by photojournalism majors include News Reporting, Editing, Communication Law, Mass Communication, and Digital Photography. Our coursework is focused on learning by doing.
Photojournalism students get to work for our award-wining newspaper, The Trailblazer, starting their first semester on campus. The Trailblazer is a student-run, multimedia news organization.
The newspaper is produced in our newly redesigned Journalism Lab in Davis Hall on the VU campus. Students have access to industry standard Macintosh computers and Adobe Creative Suite software, as well as DSLR cameras, as they work to cover campus and community news.
Whatever your goals in journalism, VU is a great place to start your future through focused, quality education!
